Robert Polansky svoj výtvarný program a umelecké ambície cieľavedome budoval a buduje nielen na teoretickej úrovni. Získané znalosti a skúsenosti formuluje v rôznych námetoch i výtvarných technikách. Doménou jeho súčasnej tvorby sú akryly a konceptuálne umenie.
Je známe, že od umenia sa očakáva sústavná inovácia a istá originálnosť, ktoré sú spolu s pochopením umelcových zámerov a špecifikovaných námetov faktormi konkurujúcimi šíreniu trhového, skomercializovaného umenia.

Vnímateľ môže dešifrovať v jeho diele ponúknuté: či v črtách ľudskej tváre, v civilistických sujetoch nachádzať vlastnú intímnu individualitu v sivom a mnohotvárnom spektre davových situácií predimenzovaných sídlisk, nájsť seba, „svoje výpovede“ a on ich ponúka. Archetypom, bodom, čiarou, ready madom. V jeho dielach sa odráža abstraktné i expresívne. Možno konštatovať, že za zdanlivo jednoduchým námetom sa skrýva osobnosť autora a odkrývaním výtvarných i mimovýtvarných významov kompozícií treba uvažovať o jeho vzťahu k svetu a o jeho individuálnej hierarchii hodnôt – sú pozitívne. Robert Polansky vo svojich dielach vraví o subjektívnom prežití duchovnej i materiálnej podstaty bytia, zdanlivo jednoduchých, ale vypovedajúcich o objektívnych zákonitostiach princípov harmónie. V 70. a 80. rokoch 20. storočia vstupuje ako mladý adept umenia na slovenskú výtvarnú scénu. V týchto rokoch sa stretáva a komunikuje s viacerými konceptuálnymi umelcami. Autor sa umelecky angažuje popri významnom konceptuálnom umelcovi akad. mal. Petrovi Bartošovi. Polansky výtvarne pôsobí v tejto umeleckej a výtvarnej atmosfére v období normalizácie slovenského výtvarného umenia. Všetci tí, ktorí sa odklonili od „oficiálneho socialistického umenia“, boli jednoducho odpísaní zo slovenskej výtvarnej scény. Polansky sa priklonil k týmto disidentom, ktorí už dnes patria k najrelevantnejším osobnostiam slovenskej výtvarnej scény.
Polansky v roku 1992 začal podnikať v oblasti grafického dizajnu. O čo sa vo svojej tvorbe opiera? Vraví sám: „O svoju vlastnú skúsenosť, pozorovanie a sústavné analyzovanie.“ Autor vystavuje na Slovensku i v zahraničí. Žije a tvorí v Bratislave.

Robert Polansky has been intentionally building his fine arts programe and artistic ambitions not only on the theoretical level. The knowledge and experience he has learnt was formulated by him in various topics and artistic techniques. The domain of his art production at the moment are acrylic paintings and conceptual art.
Itis well-known that one expects from art permanent innovation and certain originality which together with understanding of the artist‘s intentions and specified subjects are factors competing with dissemination of market-aimed commercial art.
Polansky with the help of his artifacts, in which he uses variety of techniques, materials, topics and goals, he highlights individual subjectivity. In his works one can record ambiguities, mysteriousness, overlapping and associative interconnection of apparent and hidden meanings – intellectual as well as sensual hedonism. However, these features of this artist‘s paintings must be recognized by the viewer since they are not legible and communicable on the first sight. One must look for the idea and essence of the artist‘s message. The viewer can decipher what is offered in his oeuvre. He can look for and find one‘s own intimate individuality in the features of a human face or in a grey and multifaceted spectrum of the crowd situations of overpopulated urban quarters filled with blocks of flats. One has to find one‘s own self, „one‘s own messages“ and that is what Polansky offers. With the help of the archetype, point, line or ready made. In his works there is reflected the abstract and the expressive. One can state that behind the seemingly simple topic there is hidden its creator‘s personality. By uncovering artistic and extraartistic meanings of compositons one can think about his attitude to the world and on his individual hierarchy of values – they are positive.

The author is artistically committed at the side of the imortant conceptual artist Peter Bartos. Polansky is artistically fruitful in this bohemian and artistic atmosphere in the period of politically strict Socialism called „normalization“, which controlled also the sphere of fine arts. All those who diverted from the „officiáan socialistic art“, were simply written off from the Slovak fine arts scene. Polansky inclined towards these dissidents, who today belong to the most relevant personalities of the Slovak fine art scene.
Polansky started to be active as an entrepreneur in 1992 in the field of graphical design. What is the basis on which he supports his art? He himself says: „On my own experience, on observation and permanent analysing things.“ This author exhibits his works in Slovakia and abroad. He lives in Bratislava where he produces his art works.
